Guidance Value
The government-notified minimum value of a property by area.
Guidance value, also called the ready-reckoner or circle rate, is the minimum value the state assigns to property in a given area for the purpose of calculating stamp duty and registration charges. A transaction cannot be registered below the applicable guidance value. It is a tax reference, not a market valuation.
